About

Cobalt Horizons Corporation is a Veterans Administration Diversity Certified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and a KellyOCG Diversity Certified WORKSENSE™ Service Provider with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Professionals (GDTP) Senior Certified by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

With over 160 years combined industry experience our team provides advanced engineering support across the entire program and product life-cycle including: systems engineering concept definition and requirements management, data science engineering, supplier development engineering,, technical workforce development, operations support, process improvement, quality assurance, root cause failure analysis, technology development, test development, interdisciplinary systems and configurations analyses and trade studies, manufacturing process and tooling improvement, design review support, and technical documentation support including industry standards compliant drafting reviews, tolerance stack analysis, and functional tolerancing (GD&T) best practices.

Our staff includes a retired US Air Force Colonel, US Army Combat Veteran, a Caltech Physicist, ASME Committee voting member, California Certified Professional Engineer (PE), Chief Dimensional Inspector, Certified SolidWorks Expert (CSWE), and User Experience (UX) Designer with degrees in Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Industrial Management Engineering (strong Quality background).

The principal of Cobalt Horizons Corporation is an ASME Y14.5.2 Senior-Certified Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Professional (GDTP S09-8163). California hosts fewer than thirty such certificate holders. This very rare professional certification independently demonstrates proficiency in the understanding and application of the geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles expressed in ASME's widely-applied Y14.5 Standard. These principles form an essential element for the complex design language of electro-mechanical engineering serving as the foundation for tolerance analysis and determining optimum limits of allowable variation ensuring acceptable performance.
